From bowling and pinball machines to hockey and mini-golf, children will be able to bring their game ideas to life through hands-on projects using everyday themes. As they work on their projects, children will continue to develop their computational thinking skills, including the ability to create and follow sequences, identify cause and effect, and understand simple loops. They'll also have the chance to practice testing and debugging programs to ensure that their creations are ready for the carnival.

FRIDAYS

Scratch Coding (K-6th): Welcome to our Scratch coding course! In this course, we will introduce you to the exciting world of computer programming using Scratch, a visual programming language developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Scratch makes it easy for anyone to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations. With Scratch, children can bring their ideas to life by using blocks to specify the actions that their program should take. They will start by learning how to use loops to repeat actions, control structures to make decisions, and variables to store and manipulate data. children will also learn how to use operators to perform calculations and how to use the pen tool to draw and create animations. By the end of this course, children will have the skills to create their own interactive programs in Scratch and be well on their way to becoming coding pros.
